Jenna Spilde

In 2005 NBC aired the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Model Search. The short-lived reality series took 12 aspiring models and through a series of photo shoots, gave them a chance to compete and impress the judges. The winner would be featured in the magazine and get a million-dollar modeling contract with NEXT.

Of all the models on the show, our absolute favorite was Jenna from Texas. Even though in the end she didn’t make it to the end, we cheered her on throughout the show. With great surprise and delight, we enjoyed seeing her in print ads over the years for several department stores like JCPenney and Belk. We’ve loved her all these years and always planned to feature her on the blog.

Priscila Favaro Monroe

Priscila never imagined she would be a model. She was studying civil engineering in Brazil when a modeling scout discovered her. She moved to Miami Beach in 2001 and quickly became a common face on ads, commercials, and magazine covers. Her many clients included major retailers like Kohl’s, Belk, Gap, JCrew, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Hanes, Dillards, Lilly Pulitzer, and Lands End, and others.

Priscila holds a special place in my heart as my first model crush. I first discovered her in ads for Kohl’s all the way back in 2003. She calls modeling an “amazing job” and I call her a beautiful, amazing woman. I wish her the best and all my love.
